1. Overview
GOOD DEAL uses escrow to protect both buyers and sellers. Buyer funds are held after payment and released to the seller only after delivery is confirmed or the dispute window closes. This policy explains when refunds and returns are available and how they are processed.
2. Escrow & Release Window
When you pay for an item (Buy It Now or winning an auction), the funds are captured into escrow. The seller is paid once you confirm delivery in the app, or automatically after the escrow period elapses if no dispute is opened.
While funds remain in escrow, you may request a refund by opening a dispute. Once funds are released to the seller, refunds are handled directly between buyer and seller, with GOOD DEAL's assistance where possible.
3. Eligibility for a Refund
You may be eligible for a refund from escrow when:
- The item is significantly not as described (wrong item, wrong condition, missing parts).
- The item is not received within the expected delivery timeframe shown in the listing.
- The item is counterfeit or prohibited and this is verified.
- The seller cancels the sale before shipment.
To request a refund, open a dispute from the purchase in your account before escrow is released, and provide a clear description and any supporting evidence (photos, messages, tracking).
4. Return Process
If GOOD DEAL determines a return is appropriate, the buyer must return the item to the seller in the condition received, using a trackable shipping method. The buyer is typically responsible for return shipping unless the return is due to seller error or a not-as-described claim upheld by GOOD DEAL.
Once the seller confirms receipt of the returned item, the held funds are refunded to the buyer's original payment method. Refunds are processed by Stripe and may take several business days to appear, depending on your bank.
5. Auction Sales
A winning bid is a binding commitment. Because auctions are between users, winning bids are generally not refundable for reasons of buyer's remorse or change of mind. Refunds for auction wins are limited to the eligibility grounds in Section 3 (not as described, not received, counterfeit, or seller cancellation).
6. Disputes
If you and the seller cannot resolve an issue, open a dispute through GOOD DEAL before escrow is released. GOOD DEAL will review the listing, messages, and any evidence provided, and may decide to refund the buyer, release funds to the seller, or require a return. Decisions on escrow disposition are final.
7. Non-Refundable Items
The following are generally not eligible for refund:
- Items released from escrow after delivery confirmation and the dispute window.
- Subscription and listing-promotion fees, except where required by law.
- Items damaged after delivery due to buyer handling.
- Custom or personalized items, unless significantly not as described.
8. Seller Payouts
Sellers receive the net sale amount (item price plus shipping, minus the platform commission) once escrow is released. If a buyer's dispute is upheld before release, the held funds are returned to the buyer and no payout is issued for that transaction.
9. Chargebacks
Initiating a chargeback with your card issuer before attempting to resolve the issue through GOOD DEAL may result in account suspension. We encourage resolving disputes through the platform's escrow and dispute process first.
10. Contact
For refund questions or to open a dispute, visit the Purchases section of your account or contact GOOD DEAL support through the in-app Help center.
